Accessorizing For Autumn

I SO wanted to do a post about summery, beachy, coastal decor today – we’ve spent several days at Second Beach here in Newport while on vacation, and I’ve been more inspired than usual. However, the fact of the matter is that fall is just around the corner, and for those of us (most of us) who are not fortunate to actually live on the coast of some body of water, that often means switching up the seasonal accessories.

I definitely will not be doing any elaborate autumnal accessorizing this year, as we’re moving in a couple of months, so I thought I’d live vicariously through others who have created beautiful fall vignettes that might inspire you to do the same. Click on the photo sources for more information on how to recreate these looks, or use them as a jumping off point to do your own thing!

As you can probably tell, my seasonal decorating style tends toward the understated and not overly theme-y. It’s fun to enhance your current home decor with seasonally relevant items, as opposed to slapping on some cliched icons of the season (exception: Christmas!!).

How do you decorate for fall (or, do you?) ?

Thanks! I know, it is exciting, yet sad. It’s been such a great summer. Congrats on your little one, hope you are getting some sleep!

Comment from DesignStaging: Although it’s still 98 degrees here in Houston, I am ready for Fall decor and the warmth the colors bring.
