Friday Family-Friendly Find: The New Traditionalists Console No. 90

Friday Family-Friendly Find: The New Traditionalists Console No. 90 | Interiors for Families

A couple of years ago, I visited my sister in NYC (solo!!), and spent a Friday at the New York Design Center while waiting for her to wrap up work for the weekend. It was cool to visit showrooms and see lines we don’t have here in Boston, some of which also don’t show at High Point. One of these is The New Traditionalists, which is also a sister company of juvenile furniture line ducduc (which I have featured in two previous #FFFFinds).

When I saw this console table I immediately knew it was an amazing find. The Console No. 90 not only looks super cool (as a more modern foil for a traditional interior, or a more earthy/traditional-ish element in a contemporary space), but this tray top puts it OVER the top!

What a great idea to have a big lip on the surface of a table that is most likely to go in a high traffic area like a foyer or hallway, but especially useful behind a sofa. I’d be much less afraid to pop a couple of lamps on here, or anything that might be likely to slide off and break. It’s not a fail safe, of course, but I think it provides a little extra piece of mind – and a little more freedom for styling the table top.

Plus, I love that you can customize this in so many ways to fit your particular space and need. The New Traditionalists has many finishes available – wood, specialty wood, painted, and even some beautiful specialty painted finishes that look like linen or metal. You can also change the length, width, and height of their tables. They are bench made in Connecticut.

Happy Friday!!
