Your Help Wanted: Powder Room Mirror

Today, I write not with advice or observations, but with a request for assistance. Don’t worry – it’s a fun one :). Our new house has a teeny-tiny powder room on the first floor. I want to have some fun with it, but my fun is somewhat limited by the lack of space. My biggest concern is that I can’t fit sconces flanking a mirror above the pedestal sink. I did fall in love with a pretty polished nickel sconce, but I’ll have to settle for just one, above the mirror.

Which brings me to my request – the mirror. I would love to have a mirror that has a notch, space, or dip at the top where I can nestle that sconce – just so it looks a little more integrated with the room design. I just can’t seem to find one! I am sure I could do something custom, but I’d like to find something in retail if possible. A big challenge, I know.

For context, here are the other elements from the powder room.

Sources/Details (clockwise from top left): Bing Single-Arm Sconce, Visual Comfort (Circa Lighting). Promenade Pedestal Lavatory, Toto. Bancroft Widespread Faucet, Kohler. Hardwood floor, approximate stain (~medium walnut). Promenade Toilet, Toto. Acadia White trim color in satin finish, Benjamin Moore (ceiling color TBD, but will be slightly cooler white, flat finish). Broccato Renaissance wallpaper in Pitch Blue, Farrow & Ball.

I am calling upon the collective knowledge, resourcefulness, and design savvy of all those who read this to help me solve this design challenge! My initial thought would be a mirror with some sort of black lacquered frame with a little bit of glamour, but I am very open to other ideas (and spray paint!), especially those that have that desired shape (maybe a broken pediment or similar?) I am looking for. Thanks in advance for your creative brain power!

*Update 7/9* – I found a picture (via Ballard Designs) that perfectly illustrates what I’m talking about! Anyone seen a mirror with a concave line similar to this headboard? I actually really like this whole bedroom set-up (with the exception of the matched furniture)…

Unsure about the mirror – such a tricky situation! Have you thought about a ceiling pendant? Have an awesome weekend!

Hi, where can I find the white portofino mirror? I love it but can’t find it to purchase.
