You know you are a family-friendly design nerd when…
You get REALLY excited when you see the word ‘Scrubbable’ on the back of a cute wallpaper sample.
Osborne & Little has some great vinyl wallcoverings, many which are versions of their most popular wallpaper patterns. Good news! Their iconic Coronata star pattern is one of them.
I use ‘regular’ wallpaper often in my designs, but, in the most high-traffic and/or high-risk areas (parents of boys, in particular, know what I’m talking about…), it just doesn’t make sense. Many wallpapers are not terribly cleanable, and come with instructions to ‘wipe gently.’ Sorry, but oftentimes, that’s just not going to cut it! Vinyl wallcovering is a great solution in these situations.
One thing to keep in mind is that many vinyl wallcoverings are intended primarily for contract use, and often come in double-width rolls to make covering large commercial spaces easier. Just make sure your paperhanger knows, as it makes a big difference in the quantity you’ll need, and may affect their labor estimate.
Osborne & Little’s Coronata vinyl wallcovering comes in four perfect neutral colorways – I am partial to the silver on black. I love how this design can work well in both ‘grown-up’ and juvenile spaces. And it’s especially beautiful installed on a ceiling – though the regular paper version would likely be just fine for that! Vinyl is so perfect for a busy bathroom or mudroom. Did I mention SCRUBBABLE? You can’t even scrub (most) paint. So there.
Happy Friday!
